Our footwear protect our feet and provide support to them, and we use them every day during almost all of our waking hours. This makes them probably one the most important things that we will buy in our clothing.
Since improperly fitting footwear can worsen, or even cause foot problems that can cost you money at the doctors office (not to mention the discomfort), avoiding these problems by buying properly fitted shoes.
In one day an average person will take about 10,000 steps, with a stride averaging 2 1/2 feet, that's 45,000 feet! or nearly 5 miles daily! In an average lifetime a person will walk the equivalent of three times around the world! Over 12% of the bones in your body are in your feet.
With all the use our feet get, we need to make sure that we take good care of them to help them to "last a lifetime". It has been said by Podiatrists that 80%-90% of women wear improperly fitted shoes, which causes a number of painful, not to mention expensive, problems.
These problems may include fatigue, lower back pain, corns, bunions, and calluses. Improperly fitted shoes even have the potential of causing accidents if you are not careful!
